160×230 under a three-seater, 200×290 under a king bed. Classic borders or plain wool — both work over underfloor heating.
Floor Coverings For Every Room
Woven, tufted and flat-weave rugs chosen for real British homes — hallways that take mud, bathrooms that take splashes and living rooms that take everything else. Sizes, pile heights and care notes on every product.
Browse the rangeFront legs on the rug, 30–40 cm of floor left at the walls — we give the numbers for each size.
Every listing states pile height, composition and whether the rug can go in a 30°C machine wash.
A non-slip underlay ships with every rug over 120 cm.
Three quick starting points. Each one tells you the sizes that actually work in that space, the pile height that survives it and how the rug is cleaned when life happens to it.
160×230 under a three-seater, 200×290 under a king bed. Classic borders or plain wool — both work over underfloor heating.
Runners from 67 cm to 300 cm, low pile so doors still clear. Stair runners are sold by the metre and cut to your flight.
Coir at the front door, quick-dry cotton in the bathroom, UV-stable polypropylene outside. All of it hoses down or machine washes.
Prices include VAT and a non-slip pad where noted. Delivery across mainland UK is £4.95, free over £150.

60×90 cm cotton pile with an anti-slip backing. Quick-drying and machine washable at 40°C.

160×230 cm UV-stable polypropylene. Hose it down on the terrace, bring it inside in winter.

200×290 cm, 45 mm pile. Deep and soft beside the bed; not recommended over underfloor heating.

Sold per linear metre, 70 cm wide, 7 mm pile. Order your flight length plus one metre for the turns.

200×290 cm, 10 mm pile. A graphic ochre pattern that hides the traffic lane through a busy room.
Rugs travel rolled around a core, never folded. Unroll pile-side up, leave it 24 hours and the last creases drop out on their own.
Care notesMost returns happen because a rug is one size too small. These three rules settle it before you order, and every product page repeats the numbers for that exact piece.
See sizesThe front legs of every seat should sit on the rug. For a standard three-seater that means 160×230 cm as a minimum.
Aim for 30–40 cm of bare floor between rug and skirting. In a small room drop to 20 cm rather than shrinking the rug.
Enough rug to land on when you get up. A 200×290 cm rug does that for a king; 160×230 cm for a double.
Four habits keep a rug looking new for years. None of them take longer than a few minutes, and all of them apply to wool, polypropylene and washable flat-weaves alike.
Suction only on wool and long pile. A rotating brush pulls tufts loose and fuzzes the surface within a season.

Browse rugsRotating 180° evens out sun fading and the wear lane people walk along. Takes two minutes with a helper.
Browse rugsOn laminate, tile or sealed boards a non-slip underlay stops the rug creeping and adds a little cushioning.

Large rugs ship rolled on a pallet courier and arrive on a booked day. Small mats and doormats come by standard parcel post.
Standard UK delivery is £4.95 and free over £150. Mainland orders arrive in 2–4 working days; Highlands, Islands and Northern Ireland take 3–6. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have 14 days from delivery to change your mind, and a further 14 days to send the rug back.
Cut-to-length stair runners are made to order and sit outside the standard return right.
Unroll pile-side up in a warm room. Persistent ridges flatten under a weighted towel.
Short reads on pattern, pile and the practical side of living with a rug in a British house.

A mid-tone pattern disguises the walked lane and the odd crumb. Plain wool looks calmer but shows every mark in a south-facing room.

Blot, cold water, blot again, then a spoon of washing-up liquid in warm water. Heat and rubbing are what set it permanently.

A doormat inside the front door and one low-pile rug under the seating do more for a small flat than three scattered mats.
